We held our rehearsal dinner at the Riverhouse. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and the space was beautiful. I had met with Cindy as we looked for a potential wedding venue and I found her to be absolutely wonderful — she was present at our event and she ensured that everything ran smoothly the entire time. I knew that the night was in good hands with her there. Kris also walked us through the planning process and she was super responsive and friendly and ensured that everything was set up going into the weekend. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding or rehearsal and have nothing but positive things to say!

We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue for our special day. Cindi, Kris and her event staff were so accommodating and went above and beyond! The compliments on the food and aesthetics of venue itself made us whole heartedly know we made the very best decision in choosing the Riverhouse for our wedding ceremony and reception. Thank you for helping create our happily ever after!!

Our reception was at Riverhouse on November 12th and we were absolutely blown away by the overall experience. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking – it has a rustic yet romantic vibe and the view on the river is incredible. The floor layout was completely different from any other wedding venue we had seen. All of the seats are around the dance floor which gave all of our guests a clear view to all of the exciting events on the dance floor.
The food was AMAZING (bacon wrapped filet, cheesy potatoes, kicken shrimp… I could keep going!) We received tons of great feedback on the entire experience.
The event staff were an absolute joy to work with. Kris VanDerNoord, the Events Manager was with us every step of the way with amazing ideas and tips about decor layout and design, ways to save and was always on top of everything! She was always quick to respond to my (many) questions and always made time to meet around our busy schedules. Cindy, the wedding coordinator was awesome and helped get everything together day of.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend any event at the Riverhouse. The team did a flawless job at helping us plan one of the happiest days of our lives!

We had a wonderful time here for our wedding reception on the water! The views were spectacular; the food was amazing; the staff was friendly; courteous and on top of everything throughout the evening; the venue was simply incredible. Many of our guests have told us how much fun they had and what a great party it was. Unquestionably, a large part of that is due to the staff of the Riverhouse making sure everything went seamlessly throughout the evening. Thank you Kristin, Shannon and crew for helping to make it an evening to remember!

It’s the typical wedding tradition to have
- Something Old
- Something New
- Something Borrowed
- Something Blue
But do you really know why this tradition exists?
Simply put, the tradition comes from an Old English rhyme (“Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your shoe”), and the four objects that the bride adds to her wedding dress or carries with her are just good luck charms. They are typically little tokens of love that your family members and other atttendants will give to you at your wedding (although, you may gift them to yourself as well).
Something old represents continuity.
Something new offers optimism for the future.
Something borrowed symbolized borrowed happiness.
Something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity.
And, a sixpence in your shoe is a wish for good fortune and prosperity (this part is maily a British custom).
The Wedding team at the Riverhouse can assist you in everything Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue if you give them the chance. Find out what ideas we have by requesting event info from the Riverhouse in Palmetto, FL.
