Beautiful wedding thanks to the Riverhouse!

Bradenton and Palmetto, FL’s tranquil, waterfront wedding venue is the Riverhouse Banquets and Weddings.  Each year we get many unsolicited reviews from our happy newly weds and many more are posted via wedding directory sites.

Check out Nov. 26, 2014 review of Riverhouse Banquets and Weddings posted on the TheKnot.com:

From the beginning, working with Carrie and the Manatee Riverhouse for our venue and catering vendor has been effortless. Every question answered quickly, every concern (and there were very few) addressed immediately, and Carrie was always available to show myself and my planner the venue and allow any needed accommodations. The catering is in-house through the downstairs restaurant (Riverhouse Reef and Grill). I was concerned at first that bundled catering wouldn’t allow for personalization or much room to choose; I was totally wrong! Everything was wonderful. Staff was efficient, quick, friendly, and funny (I had to hide off to the side before walking down the aisle, and the couple staff members back there helped calmed me down with jokes!).

I highly recommend this as a venue (beautiful waterfront location and views with a lovely dock and wooden balconies) and as a caterer (amazing food and great service). Carrie was wonderful to work with, and our event was perfect!

More Manatee County Boaters Start 2015 at Regatta Pointe Marina

Regatta Pointe Marina is the preferred liveaboard and large boat marina in Manatee County (Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch & Palmetto), and 2014 was a banner year for the 350-slip facility.

Regatta Pointe Marina

More than 50 long-term lease holders joined the Regatta Pointe Marina boating community in 2014, taking advantage of great slip rates and resort quality amenities.  These boaters enjoy the beautiful Manatee River setting, with quick access to major highways as well as no bridges to the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay.

The marina was host to many great events, including the annual Regatta Pointe Marina Nautical Expo in the spring, 2014 Summer Sailstice River Regatta, the Turkey Run Regatta, and many social functions hosted by Regatta Pointe Yacht Club.  Regatta Pointe Marina boaters were also able to take advantage of large community events held within walking distance, such as the DeSoto Seafood Festival, Taste of Manatee, the July 4th Fireworks & concert and the Holiday Boat Parade.

With so much to do and see, it’s no wonder the readers of the Bradenton Herald selected Regatta Pointe Marina for the People’s Choice Award – Best Marina for the second consecutive year in 2014.  With even more planned in the month’s ahead, 2015 is going to be another great year at Regatta Pointe Marina.

Savor the Waterfront with a Riverhouse Margarita

Riverhouse Reef & Grill embodies the old-Florida seafood dining experience that residents and vacation travelers long for all year round.  And there’s no better way to savor our 270-degree view of the Manatee River and downtown Bradenton than with a Riverhouse Margarita.

It’s the Classic Boat Drink!  And each member of our bar staff is trained with our signature formula and house tequila. The Riverhouse Margarita is a Happy Hour favorite (from 3-6 p.m. daily for just $4) and served with your choice of salt, and a fresh lime in a glass about size of your face.

Add Grand Marnier for only $ 2.50

Anchoring Laws in Florida May Be Tightening

Boaters in Florida may find the anchoring laws get tighter in the very near future. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission closed a public survey on Dec. 7, 2014 examining proposed changes to anchoring.

The FWC is examining new restrictions that could force anchored boats to move 150 feet offshore, ban boats “in a condition of disrepair or poor maintenance” or require that permanently anchored boats be moved several miles every few weeks. That could have a major impact on liveaboard boaters who choose not to dock at a liveaboard marina (like Regatta Pointe Marina).

“Issues related to anchoring boats continue to be a challenge,” said Maj. Richard Moore of the FWC’s Boating and Waterways Section in a video placed on the FWC website.

“Boat owners, marina owners and owners of waterfront infrastructure constantly fear damage to their property when a thunderstorm blows through, because of the likelihood that boats anchored nearby may become adrift.”

The officer also cited complaints about popular water-skiing areas made unusable because of boats anchored there; “public nuisance” boats left to sink and become derelict; and boats anchored “for extended periods of time, a bit closer to waterfront residences than many people would agree is appropriate.”

According to Moore, there is no way to know when or in what form potential anchoring legislation could change.

We were so fortunate that my wife met Carrie at a Bridal show in Sarasota. In less than two month we did an entire wedding planning. We have received a true professional service. Amazing food, friendly and professional personal. The place itself was superb and had beautiful manatee river views. Everyone who attended our wedding reception said: – “WOW !!!”. It was a great experience for us and our guests. We can’t be any happier.

Thank you so much from our family !
